Peter Martin is interested in technology, open source software, and sharing knowledge with others. Besides technology and open source software, he also enjoys cooking. From time to time, he even bakes his own "open source cookies".

He studied Economics and later completed a master's degree in Mass Communication. Since 2005, he has been working in the web and technology sector through his company, db8 Website Support, where he focuses on Joomla websites and custom web applications.

Peter has been involved in the Joomla community since 2005. He currently serves as a Global Forum Moderator, Treasurer of Joomla Foundation Netherlands, and co-organizer of Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen. Over the years, he has contributed in several roles, including Release Manager for Joomla 5.2, member of the Community Leadership Team, Operations Department Coordinator, Board Member, and mentor for Google Summer of Code (GSoC).

He has been using Linux since 2007. Inspired by the Joomla User Groups in the Netherlands, he started Linux User Group Nijmegen. He also regularly speaks at Joomla and Linux events, and his presentation slides are available at https://petermartin.nl/en/presentations/.

He also supports local tech communities by organizing Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen, Linux User Group Nijmegen, and Open Coffee Nijmegen.
