Joomla has a certification programme. It was built for Joomla 3, nobody ever updated it, and the exam calendar has said no events found for a long time now.
certification.joomla.org is still online. The Joomla Administrator exam is still listed, in six languages. What is missing is a date to sit it, and an exam that matches the Joomla anybody actually runs today. The programme was never cancelled. It just stopped.
So this is not a maintenance session. Reviving it means deciding what a Joomla certification is good for in 2026, rewriting the exam for a current version, and finding the people to run and supervise it. Skilldisplay is a plattform that we need to discuss as we have a microcredential there for Joomla for a few months..
Honest expectation: we leave with a decision and a first set of steps, not with a bookable exam.
