Joomla's accessibility work does not fail on good intentions. It fails on how few people can actually test. This workshop goes at that from the supply side.

A hands-on workshop for up to 15 people. You learn how to test a Joomla site for accessibility: what to check, which tools to use, how to tell a real barrier from a false positive, and how to write up a finding so that a developer can act on it.

It runs under the Joomla Accessibility Project, the Sovereign Tech Fund programme with its own milestones and open calls. Testing capacity is the bottleneck there. That is why this is a workshop and not a talk — at the end you should be able to do it, not just know that it exists.

The other half of the point is recruitment. Everyone who leaves able to test is someone the accessibility work can call on afterwards.

Target Audience

Up to 15 people. Site builders, developers, testers, editors, anyone who touches a Joomla site and could run an accessibility check on it. No prior accessibility knowledge needed. Bring a laptop.

Make it Happen Goals

Up to 15 people who can test Joomla for accessibility, and new team members for the accessibility work.
