Content Strategy and the Customizable CMS

Commercial and enterprise web projects don’t use a CMS out-of-the box – the CMS is customized to meet the needs of the project. How do we do that with Joomla?
In this session we will look at how we identify the project’s content strategy and the workflows for managing content. As we discuss client expectations, Randy will demonstrate solutions that meet a variety of challenging requests and requirements. We will address streamlining workflows, team-based content management, boundaries between content management and CMS support, customizing the UX for third-party extensions, and building client-specific extensions. And finally, Randy suggests how you can expand your market by offering more customization.

Randy will also explain how these solutions were built – their design, configuration details, and (when needed) a quick overview touching on code. There will be more time for questions-and-answers. Joomla, even its backend, is very flexible and accommodates customization. In the current era of do-it-yourself-tools, paying clients seek out CMS experts who can customize to their content strategy needs. Learn how to meet those expectations.
